Lauren Harris. Born in East London, the Cockney homeland, but as un-Cockney as possible. I'm in Year 4 of my BA in French and German. My ambition is to invent my own crazy language and dominate the world with it like Dr Evil. I enjoy German beer, French wine, and foreign men! My birthday is 15th October 1977, which makes my 22nd birthday v. near indeed!! Those are my toes, by the way!

Anke Karen Schlevoigt International Studies and Spanish, yr. 2 hobbies... hmm... studying too much - don't have any :-) I guess it is UWCs, meeting people, languages, travelling, reading, music dancing and plenty of other fun stuff.

Ellen, I'm 19 and am now in my third and hopefully final year of mathematical economics. As the leader of the horny devils I am of course a top class one myself! I can't think of much else to put on the website except that I love travelling, try to do swimming, tennis or rockclimbing as often as I can summon up the willpower to and of course socialising with co-welcome team members so everyone had better keep in touch! oh, and jerry springer rocks...

raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah..

Sophie (Soap) Cash 3rd year Physics with Astrophysics BSc. Live in Oxfordshire in holidays. Hobbies: love sport of any type. Just joined Volleyball club and in a student dance team at the moment, which has done 3 things at the guild live music events 'Vision'. I like music, and play the oboe in my county youth orchestra and Birm.uni orchestra. And I love being outside, summer, surfing, appreciating God, splurging with paint, doing fun and mad things with friends... I was born in Oxford on 22nd January 1979.

Kelvin Mah(Singaporean of course) also bumping around in the Elect Eng Dept, hopefully able to finish my third year and get my Bachelor's. Another fan of classical music, ,though I like other music as well. Really want to learn how to play a musical instrument. Love playing soccer, tennis, jogging and going to the gym!! Learning Japanese at the moment. Would love to do challenging things whether outdoors or indoors. My DOB is 12 May 1975, always near exam time :(

I am Kathrin. Everybody by mistake thought I was Italian. I am not (although that would be nice). My nationality is German, but my heart is rather "European" if that is possible...I study International Studies with Political Science, and I love it. I am in my second year and I will be around for at least another two years (maybe doing a masters). That means I will be (hopefully!) on the welcome team next year and maybe the year after! I love sports although I am not good at practicing regularly.. and I like singing. I live with very cool housemates, one of them is Nadine (also from the welcome team). Watch out for her...

Kate McMahon (prefer name to be spelt with C (Cate) Year 2 studying BA Joint Honours Geography/Hispanic Studies British (English) D.O.B 27/09/78 Interests, hobbies and stuff: I love travel and languages. Have worked in Uganda and Austria and travelled in Kenya, Tanzania, Peru, Spain. I also like sports and fitness. I am treasurer of the best society(!) at Birmingham Uni,(Wayfarers) and hence spend many weekends out in the hills and mountains of the UK with other Brum students including Nicola Berry!
René Guenther, 3rd year Social Policy here. Born and raised in Salzburg/Austria but decided to stay in England for a bit. Why? The football and the beer are better than back home plus I get all the movies in original version. Hence I spend most of my time socialising, going to cinemas (preferably the Electric) and supporting West Brom! On the Induction Course, the force was clearly with us, so our team was named 'The Jedis'. Any females out there who think I look more like Ewan McGregor rather than Darth Vader without the mask, feel free to contact me!
