Faith is not knowing what impending misfortune will befall yet one can still trust that troubling and trying times often conceal God's wonderful works that are beyond one's expectation. As recorded in the old testament, Joseph who was sold to slavery only to be made premier of Egypt; Moses being thrown into the river only to be rescued to the palace; and Job being tested by crushing losses only to end in seeing God with his own eyes and God blessing him twice as much as before. Sail of the New Testament was blinded by a great light on the way to Damascus only to bring about a great spiritual turn around to become a great vessel in the hand of God-- Paul. Truly, all things work together for good and all things convey God's goodness. When in adversities, believers can reflect on the past experience, and they will be comforted and encouraged and by God's grace, turn sorrow into strength and overcome sadness with joy. On the contrary, one's spiritual life will not only not be weakened but be strengthened. We must hold fast to God's mercy and love, trusting that he will certainly not let harmful and unfortunate events to befall upon us and to suffer undeserved hurt for he truly loves everyone who belongs to him. His love, deep and steadfast, never changes.
