Faith is to accept that mans life depends not upon riches and earthly riches often affect adversely his spiritual growth. The love of riches is the root of all evil as it draws one away from the truth, and plunges one into temptation and corruption and afflicts one with much sorrow. Therefore we must guard ourselves diligently, ridding ourselves of all greed. We live in the world as wayfarer and sojourner, living out the days as decreed by God. Our body is made of dust and must return to dust. What quickens life is the Spirit. The flesh profits nothing. Hence, we must labour after the eternal manna, despising earthly things, striving after spiritual richness, affirming that earthly riches is transient whereas born again life is everlasting. Through earthly life is precious, we must appreciate eternal life more.
