Faith is when great joy is lost, you still have the strength to hold your ground without murmuring nor be despaired. Through the fig trees blossom not and the fields yield no harvest, yet you proclaim, "I shall rejoice in the Lord and in the God of my salvation". When God has taken everything away from you, yet you can say, "The Lord gave and the Lord had taken away, blessed be the name of the Lord." Truly trusting that what you have had, owned and are capable of, are derived from God. He is the God who provides for our living. All our goodness is not outside of Him. Our life, breath and existence depend on Him. He rules over all domain and is sovereign over everything. He creates out of nothing. The God who performs unmatched miracles is full of mercies, grace and love. And he is not easily provoked. He cares for and preserves his own. Hence, we should be anxious for nothing and be truly trusting. All worries and fears come about from having no faith or little faith. The Lord Jesus said, "Be not afraid, only believe". |
