Faith is to believe. God is a God that searches our heart and thoughts. Before God, we are naked and can hide nothing. Man sees the outward but God sees the inner. Therefore we must worship him in spirit and in truth, just as David said, "Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my thoughts; and see if there be any wicked way in me. O Lord, let the words in my mouth, thoughts in my heart be of thy delight." God shows pleasure in our making offerings willingly, serving faithfully and loving him truly. He does not respect mans outward manner and carriage. He hates feigned devoutness, condemns all hypocrisies. Falsehood and pretence deceive mans eye but cannot be hidden from his searching. Pharisees of the gospels, being hypocritical and self-righteous, constitute the group that is most reproached. Hence, lets pursue to be truthful believers to Gods delight. |
