Faith is to believe. Once we truly confess our sin before God in anguish and due to efficacy of the Lords precious blood, we will surely be forgiven. We will not be haunted daily by past sins, confessing again and again as though they have not been forgiven. To pray to God on issues, the crux is to know Gods will and to persevere in faith, whereas words used, frequency and duration for prayers are secondary. When praying for gifts of the Holy Spirit, it suffices that one need only to be cleansed and be obedient to boisterous, clapping and jumping about to acquire gifts since they are dispensed by the Holy Spirit according to his pleasure. Should one adamantly pursue after such gifts, it only provides ground for the working of evil spirit. It is prudent for serving believer to be cautious when pursuing such gifts and spiritual power. We know that prayers that are of Gods will, will be answered, but if they are to satisfy our own desire even if we were to pray earnestly day and night, will be of no avail. Therefore , it is very important for Gods children to know Gods will. God shows mercies to the humble but resist the proud. Hence, Gods people when making prayers of supplication, must assume a humble, obedient and waiting posture in spirit, pouring out ones heart and be diligent and vigilant, believing God is Lord over all things and he can fulfill more than what we can imagine. However, lets remember that God will never answer any prayer that does not comply with his will. Let grace abound among us in the matter of prayer.
